Important orders

EDP, Portugal
Efacec Automation received an order from Portuguese EDP Distribuição, the Electric Power Distribution Operator, through the Efacec medium voltage equipment division, for the supply of 244 pole-top RTU.

E.ON, Romania
Efacec was awarded with an order from E.ON from the Central Europe market, through its business partner in Romania Eximprod. The order includes the installation and configuration of substation automation systems.

Pedernales Electric Cooperative (Johnson City, TX), US
Pedernales Electric Cooperative has placed a second order with Efacec ACS for legacy Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) upgrades.

FURNAS, AMAZONAS ENERGIA, AMPLA, COELCE – Brazil
During the first quarter of 2012, Efacec do Brasil Automation Business Unit received a set of important orders regarding the power network management and automation, namely:
- FURNAS, Goiás
- AMAZONAS ENERGIA, Amazonas
- AMPLA, Rio de Janeiro
- PEUGEOT, Rio de Janeiro
- COELCE, Ceará
- CTEEP, São Paulo

Projects Implementations

During the first quarter of 2012 were performed implementations of several projects in diverse areas of activity, from power networks management till substation automation systems.

Among all installed systems, we highlight the following scope of installations:
- Casablanca Power, Water and Effluent Dispatch, LYDEC – Morocco
- Distribution Dispatch of Oporto, EDP – Portugal
- Remodeling and expansion of Recarei Substation, REN – Portugal

Completed FATs

Efacec completes the FAT with Kenyan company KPLC

Throughout the last quarter of 2011 and first of 2012, Efacec successfully concluded the Factory Acceptance Tests and Training for the first Efacec substation automation systems, featuring protection and control, for the Kenyan distribution utility KPLC (Kenya Power & Lighting Company).

What's new in products
Release of Automation Studio version 2.6

The new version of Automation Studio is now available. It includes a set of new features, a revision of all product manuals and associated documentation and several issue fixes.
 
New Multi-touch technology
Inspired by mobile devices and focusing on natural interaction for HMI applications, Efacec has recently developed a prototype implementation of a multi-touch-enabled HMI with full zoomable vector graphics, animations and controls. This innovative application brings enhanced design and improved interaction without compromising operation security.
 
M Box Certification
The Efacec Automation smart meter M Box is currently under the final phase of DLMS certification process. It has already successfully concluded other certification processes.

Vitor Sousa - “25 years of professional experience at Efacec”
Vitor’s experience with Efacec has begun with a professional training at the Medium Voltage Equipment business unit in 87, and one later joining a professional course promoted by Efacec. He was admitted in the Automation business unit in 89, where he continues working today.
