During the first quarter of 2009, Efacec’s Automation business unit received a set of important orders, in the domain of power network management and automation, with a total amount around 6 million euros, highlighting the following:
Domestic market
  REN - Portugal
  - supply of systems and services for the remodelling and expansion of one substation
    - supply of an innovative Wide-Area Monitoring System

During the first quarter of 2009, the Automation business unit of Efacec concluded the commissioning works regarding additional lines for two REN substations: Penela and Carrapatelo.

»» Efacec welcomes two Portuguese electric power utilities: REN and EDP

During the first quarter of 2009, two very important visits to Efacec’s Automation business unit took place in Maia facilities. In January we received REN, and in February EDP Distribuição.

»» Future events
The 2009 CIRED Conference (International Conference on Electricity Distribution) will take place in Czech Republic, between the 8th and 11th June, at the Prague Congress Centre.

Efacec will be present at the booth B15-16, placed on the third floor.

»» International training
The international training took place during March at the Efacec facilities in Maia, Portugal. The training program regarding the Automation Business Unit solutions, was held for all Efacec offices, as well as to its business partners. The purpose of this training was to present the scope of solutions and products developed by the unit, as well as hands on sessions, applying the knowledge acquired with our qualified technical staff.
