»» Orders from Sonelgaz, Algeria

Efacec’s Automation business area received from Sonelgaz, the Algerian company for generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, a set of important orders with a total amount around 4.3 million euros, for the supply of substation automation systems for 4 new substations of GRTE (the electric power transmission company from Sonelgaz). The substations are the following ones: Tissemsilt (220/60 kV), Messerghine (220/60 kV), Thniet El Had (60/30 kV) and Sidi Kada (60/30 kV).

The Efacec’s scope of supply for the two transmission substations (220/60 kV) comprises two automation systems, based on the CLP 500SCC platform, integrating Efacec’s BCU 500 bay control units, as well as protection systems from Efacec (TPU 420 family) and from third parties.

The Efacec’s scope of supply for two the distribution substations (60/30 kV) comprises two automation systems, based on the CLP 500SCC platform, integrating TPU 420 family protection systems from Efacec.

The main systems proposed in this supply will include two additional systems: a centralized energy metering system for each substation, and a centralized oscillography system, both from third parties.

At each substation, the communications between the central units, the bay control units and the digital protection relays are carried out according to the IEC 61850 standard. The central unit communicates with the upstream hierarchical centre (SCADA) through the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol.
