In October 2007, EDP announced the InovGrid project, which main objective is to attend the great changes that currently are foreseen in the electric field.

»» Launch of the Regional Operation Centres of BANDEIRANTE, ESCELSA and ENERSUL Networks, in Brazil
The Regional Operation Centres of the electric network of BANDEIRANTE, ESCELSA and ENERSUL Brazilian companies were launched in October of 2007. These companies belong to the Energias do Brasil group, which is owned by the Portuguese EDP group. This work accomplishment was performed by EFACEC do Brasil, whose SCADA technology was supplied by the EFACEC’s Automation business unit.

»» Commissioning of REN’s Alqueva Substation, Portugal
During the last quarter of 2007, EFACEC concluded the implementation of a Substation Automation system for the Alqueva Substation (400/60 kV) of REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais), Portugal.

In 2007, EFACEC’s Automation business unit achieved a large number of orders, both at the domestic and international market, with a total amount around 25.6 million Euros.

In the last quarter of 2007, EFACEC received a set of important orders, with a total amount around 9.7 million Euros, highlighting the following, related to the domestic market:

   REFER
: maintenance contract, valued around 1 million Euros

   EDP: an important set of orders valued around 3.5 million Euros

In the last quarter of 2007, the EFACEC’s Automation business unit participated in several events:

CIGRE Study Committee B5, carried out in Madrid, Spain, between 15th and 20th October
HYDRO 2007, carried out in Granada, Spain, between 15th and 17th October
IRF – International Rail Forum 2007, carried out in Valencia, Spain, between 13th and 15th November
