In 2007, EFACEC’s Automation business unit achieved a large number of orders, both at the domestic and international market, with a total amount around 25.6 million Euros.

In the last quarter of 2007, EFACEC received a set of important orders, with a total amount around 9.7 million Euros, highlighting the following, related to the domestic market:

REFER


REFER manages the Portuguese railways, in terms of construction, conservation, maintenance, management of property assets and capacity management, aiming to provide an efficient, safe and competitive transport infrastructure, in line with the established environmental criteria.

The EFACEC activity scope covers Preventive and Corrective Maintenance services supply, including technical support, with remote maintenance component and call centre support.

The maintenance service embraces SCADA systems for the railways traction power network management, based on SCATE X RAIL, as well as traction substation automation systems, based on CLP 500RAIL.

EDP orders, with a total amount around 3.5 million Euros


EFACEC received an important set of orders, highlighting the following:
- Revamping of the automation component of the Crestuma Hydro Power
   Plant
- Revamping of the protection component of 12 substations
- RTU for telecontrol and automation of 7 substations

The scope of supply for the automation systems revamping of the Crestuma Hydro Power Plant includes all hardware and software equipment as well as the services necessary to replace the following systems:
- Generation unit automation systems, in a number of three
- Auxiliary services automation system
- Analogue data acquisition system
- Dam’s RTU
- Event recording

The solution to be implemented is based on the CLP 500 platform, including CLP 500AGR systems (for the generation units), CLP 500ASA (for the auxiliary services) and CLP 500RTU (for the dam).

In scope of the revamping project for 12 substations of EDP, concerning the protection component, 134 TPU S420 protection relays from EFACEC will be installed in medium voltage bays. Thus, the new protection relay units will be integrated into already existing control and automation platforms, shall be used in the following installations:
- Areias Substation
- Bragança Substation
- Chaves Substation
- Fafe Substation
- Mosteiró Substation
- Requião Substation
- Águeda Substation
- Bustos Substation
- Devesa Velha Substation
- Mangualde Substation
- Ovar Substation
- Viso Substation

Regarding the new RTU for the telecontrol and automation of 7 substations, the solution to be implemented shall be based on the CLP 500ASE, one of the CLP 500’s platform options. Thus, the new RTU will be installed in the following substations:
- Condeixa Substation
- Cantanhede Substation
- Alfena Substation
- Lameirinho Substation
- Matosinhos Substation
- Pevidém Substation
- Verdinho Substation
