Recently, Efacec has received an order from the Paraguayan company ANDE (Administración Nacional de Electricidad) for the extension of 4 substations of 220 kV.
During the second quarter of 2008, Efacec carried out an important set of automation systems commissioning, for several clients in Portugal, of which we can highlight the following ones:
- REN, Estarreja Substation
- GENERG, Trancoso Switching Station (according to the IEC 61850 standard)
- EDP Distribuição, set of 3 Substations (Inha, Sousa, Monserrate) and Polipropigal Switching Station
- EDP Produção, set of 14 small hydro Power Plants
On May 2008, Efacec’s UAC 420 (Acquisition and Control Unit for Substation Automation) received the KEMA certification, relative to the implementation of the IEC 61850 standard, covering points 6, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4 and 8-1.
»» INTEGRA Project results demonstration public session
During June 26 the public session was carried out in order to demonstrate the INTEGRA Project results. The session was organised by Efacec and took place at Lagoas Park Hotel, in Oeiras.
This Project was performed within the scope of the DemTec program, coordinated by Agência de Inovação (Innovation Agency).

The Official inauguration of the new CERN’s particle accelerator, the LHC, will take place on the 21st of October 2008, for the Heads of State and Government of CERN’s Member States, among other important guests. In this scope, Efacec is proud to announce its participation in this important event, as an Official Sponsor.
CIGRÉ 2008 Session (International Council on Large Electric Systems) will take place in Paris, between the 25th and 29th August.
