Important orders
ENERGEST, ELETROBRAS/ ELETROSUL, CEEE – Brazil
During the last quarter of 2011, Efacec do Brasil Automation Business Unit received a set of important orders for power network management and automation, namely:
- ENERGEST (EDP Group) – Expansion of the Scate X Platform in Generation Operations Centre

ENERGEST awarded Efacec with a contract for Scate X platform expansion in Generation Operation Centre (GOC), as well as supply of a Disaster Recovery Center for the current GOC.

As a sign of trust in Efacec system performance and quality of previous projects, Energest decided to proceed with the integration of 11 additional power plants (Jucu, Fruteiras, Alegre, Vicosa, Sao Joao, Mascarenhas, Coxim, Paraiso, Costa Rica, Sao Joao I and Sao Joao II), increasing the number of plants being operated non-stop from the Scate X hot-standby platform to 15.

In order to provide an improved quality of service, Energest has decided to invest in a Disaster Recovery Center, allowing the operation of any generation system from a new contingency center.

The proposed solution is based on the Scate X architecture, which allows system operation under regular conditions or under recovery after an incident, disaster situation or communication with the GOC failure, ensuring high availability and no service downtime.
