New project implementations

Remote terminal units for three EDP Substations, Portugal

Efacec has recently finished a set of projects for EDP within the scope of distribution substation automation systems. The substations are Algeruz, Quinta da Marquesa and Lagoa.

The Efacec solutions installed in those substations are based on CLP 500RTU, one of the variants of CLP 500 platform that consists of two hierarchical levels: station server units and acquisition units.

Substation automation solutions offered by Efacec include state of the art field-proven technology and allow reducing installation, testing and maintenance costs.

Expansion of Chillon Substation, Edelnor, Peru

The expansion works of the substation automation system for Edelnor’s Chillón Substation (220/60/20 kV) were concluded in the second quarter of 2011. The scope of expansion considered the 60 kV line.

The scope of supply included an automation system, based on CLP 500SAS, integrating Efacec bay control units (BCU 500) and third party protections. The integration of all components was done in accordance to IEC 61850.

This substation is already in operation, since the end of 2008, and the original automation system was also supplied by Efacec.

Conclusion of the new Dublin Light Railway line, Ireland

The new line of the Dublin Light Railway was concluded with the joint efforts of several business units of the Efacec Group.

Efacec Automation was involved in the supply and installation of integrated automation systems for traction substations, as well as of technical supervision systems for the metro infrastructures.

With this new line, Dublin Light Railway provides its users with improved quality of service, and Efacec is proud to be a part of this project.

Substation Automation for EWA, Bahrain

Efacec has finished the installation and commissioning of the Eskan Salmabad Substation (60/11 kV), the first substation automation system for EWA in Bahrain of a set of 17 substations ordered.

The automation system is based on CLP 500SAS, integrating Efacec stations servers (UC 500E), Efacec bay control units (BCU 500) and protection relays from third parties.
