During the third quarter of 2010, Efacec Automation Business Unit was most glad to welcome Mr. Rui Cartaxo, REN CEO together with REN’s management team, at the Maia facilities.

The group was met by the CEO of Efacec, Luís Filipe Pereira. The reception aimed to present the most recent Efacec solutions for management and automation of power networks for transmission utilities.

Cooperation with REN started in the mid 90’s, since the creation of the company as a subsidiary of EDP. Over the years, numerous integrated substation automation systems were provided to REN by Efacec. We would also highlight Efacec and REN’s joint R&D or pilot projects such as the Integra Project, which successfully demonstrated the capability of the implementation of a Substation Automation System according to the IEC 61850, which is now the main distributed automation solution from Efacec.
