Efacec received an order from Greek PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION, valued at around 5.6 millions euros, for supply of system that will manage the electric energy distribution network in Attica, the region that integrates the capital city Athens and it is responsible for a third of consumed energy in Greece, with 2.4 millions of customers.
Being responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy in all country, the PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION is the biggest company in the sector in Greece, with the installed capacity of 12.76 MW and the turnover of 6 billion euros in 2009.
The system to be supplied by Efacec includes software and hardware for the Control Centre, to be installed in Athens, allowing the network operators to monitor and act over the state of all major equipment of its electric energy network. The scope of supply also includes configuration and installation of 117 remote terminal units, for distribution substations spread along its network, allowing communication between the control centre and the field.
This important order reinforces the Efacec presence (particularly in the area of management and automation of distribution networks) in Central Europe, one of Efacec’s strategic markets for international growth.
Through over 30 years of activity in this business area, Efacec installed and commissioned, in more than 40 different countries, over 900 power network control centres, as well as more than 20,000 remote terminal units, with similar features as ordered in present contract.
