»» Efacec's BCU 500 and TPU S420 receive KEMA IEC 61850 certification
On May 2009, Efacec’s BCU 500 and TPU S420 (Bay Control Unit and Feeder Protection and Control Unit respectively, for Substation Automation) received the KEMA certification, regarding the implementation of the IEC 61850 standard, covering points 6, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3, 7-4 and 8-1.

KEMA, founded in 1927, is a Dutch company specializing in high-grade business and technical consultancy, inspections and measurements, testing and certification. As an independent organization, KEMA supports clients concerned with the supply and use of electrical power and other forms of energy.

The certificate includes a summary of the test results as carried out at Efacec, based on the UCA® International Users Group Device Test Procedures.

The UCA® International Users Group is a not-profit corporation consisting of utility and supplier companies. It is dedicated to promoting the integration and interoperability of utility systems, namely for electric power, through the use of international standards-based technology. It is a User Group for the IEC 61850 standard, among others.
