Orders from EDP, Portugal
Efacec’s Automation business unit received from EDP - Energias de Portugal, a set of important orders valued at around 3.3 million euros, for the supply and assembly of substation automation systems for several power distribution substations.

From the wide range of supplies and interventions, we can highlight the supply of:
-
Remote terminal units with automation functions for renewal of existing systems in 10 substations,
-
Substation automation systems for three new substations, as well as to remodel three other substations.

In the project of renewal component of remote terminal units at 10 substations, the solution to be installed is based on CLP 500RTU, that is one of the variants of CLP 500 platform. This platform consists of two hierarchical levels: central unit and acquisition units. Therefore, the new remote terminal units shall be integrated into existing platforms, at the following installations:

 Areias Substation - 60/15 kV

 Candosa Substation - 60/15 kV

 Fafe Substation - 60/15 kV

 Pedroso Substation - 60/15 kV

 Requião Substation - 60/15 kV

 São Martinho do Campo Substation - 60/15 kV

 Almourol Substation - 60/30 kV

 Vila Viçosa Substation - 60/15 kV
-
 Vilamoura Substation - 60/15 kV
-
 Lagoa Substation - 60/15 kV

In the project of installation of substation automation systems, the solution to be installed is based on CLP 500SCC platform, with integrations of the Efacec’s 420 family protection units. Therefore, the new substations where the systems shall be installed are the following:
-
 Graça Substation - 60/15 kV
-
 Lamego Substation - 60/30 kV
-
 Vila Velha de Ródão Substation - 60/30 kV
   
Regarding the substation automation systems remodelling, the following installations shall be performed:
-
Valpaços Substation - 60/15 kV: renewal of existing system, featuring standardization of the entire solution in functional terms
-
Faro Substation - 60/15 kV: adapting of existing system in order to modify the topology of this installation for 60 kV
-
Braciais Substation - 60/15 kV: expansion of two 60 kV bays and replacement of one existing terminal unit
   
The architectures proposed by Efacec allow lower costs of installation, testing and maintenance, which make our solutions more attractive from both technical and investment point of view.

This set of projects is recognized as a sign of trust, by EDP relatively to Efacec, based on its experience, high competitiveness and high quality of its developed solutions within the scope of substation automation systems.

Orders from REN, Portugal
During the second quarter of 2009, Efacec’s Automation business unit has received from REN an important set of orders valued at 1.9 million euros, concerning the supply of systems and equipments necessary to expansion of several power transmission substations.

The scope of supply consists of installation of substation automation systems, based on CLP 500SCC platform, integrating Efacec’s and third party protection units.

Substations and the expansion scope are as follows:
