As part of the PRISM DMS solution being delivered to Avista Utilities (Spokane, WA), Efacec ACS has successfully demonstrated the new Integrated Volt/VAR Control (IVVC) application according to the customer’s rigorous requirements. 

The IVVC application is part of the PRISM DMS solution being deployed at Avista, and will be used to help the utility meet important distribution efficiency goals.  IVVC uses a power flow model and algorithm with telemetered real-time data to optimize the voltage profile along the distribution feeder while minimizing reactive power losses through coordinated control of capacitors and voltage regulators.
