»» Efacec Automation welcomes NSTAR, an utility from the United States

On 1st of February 2010, a delegation from the North American NSTAR utility visited Efacec Automation’s facilities in Maia. This visit was organized together with Efacec Advanced Control Systems.

The aim of this reception was to present the most recent Efacec solutions for IEC 61850 compliant Substation Automation.

Both ACS (former acronym of Efacec Advanced Control Systems) and NSTAR (previously designated as Commonwealth Electricity and later, Boston Edison) have been working for decades, in the scope of substation automation and remote control.

Besides knowing Efacec’s current solutions and overall expertise and references, our guests had the opportunity to visit two important IEC 61850 compliant Substation Automation projects concluded by Efacec, already in operation, one for the Transmission System Operator REN and another for the Distribution System Operator EDP.
