»» Efacec do Brasil achievements within the scope of Power Systems Automation

The Power Systems Automation Unit of Efacec do Brasil, located in São Paulo, Brazil, has won recently several important projects, in which the systems developed by Efacec Automation Unit, in Portugal, will be integrated.

Within the railways systems area, the Efacec do Brasil will carry out the project for São Paulo metro, which lines are under expansion. Therefore, an automation and protection system will be supplied for the electric traction network of the new line and the associated traction substations. The system will be based on the CLP 500 platform, with TPU S420 terminal and protection units and UAC 420 acquisition and control units.

In the domain of power energy, Efacec do Brasil will handle projects for two power companies in Brazil: CTEEP and Bandeirante.

The CTEEP project consists of the supply of digital substation automation systems for two transmission substations, Mairiporã and Porto Ferreira, with the voltage levels of 138/88/13.8 kV. The system devices integration will be performed according to the IEC 61850 standard.

The Bandeirante project consists of the devices supply for the already existing substation remodelling. Thus, the RTUs, TPU S420 protection units and UAC 420 acquisition and control units will be supplied.

In both cases, Efacec do Brasil will be on charge by the configuration and commissioning of the supplied systems.

Still, within the scope of electric power networks, Efacec do Brasil won a contract for the ANDE company, of Paraguay, for the substation automation systems supply for three substations, Coronel Oviedo, Acaray and KM30, with voltage levels of 220/66/23 kV. The system will be based on the CLP 500 platform, with integration of Efacec protection relays and third party protections. The configuration, tests and commissioning will be handled by Efacec do Brasil, jointly with the Efacec Automation Unit in Portugal.
