»» Order from CHILECTRA, Chile

EFACEC’s Automation business unit received an order for the supply of automation systems for substations in Chile, in the scope of a contract signed between BAUEN EFACEC in Chile and CHILECTRA, an ENERSYS’ Chilean company.

EFACEC’s scope of supply includes systems and devices for the expansion of substations where protection and automation systems from EFACEC already exist, as well as systems and devices for new substations.

The systems will be installed in the following 110 kV substations:
  - Apoquindo
  - La Cisterna
  - La Reina
  - San Jose
- Los Dominicos
- Maipú
- Santa Elena

The automation systems to be installed in each substation are based on the CLP 500SCC platform, a technology developed by EFACEC. This platform will integrate a protection system by EFACEC, according to the IEC 61850 standard.

CHILECTRA Substation

The CLP 500SCC platforms are composed by the following EFACEC devices:
- Central Unit (UC 500E) with human machine interface component,
- Terminal and Protection Units (TPU 420 range), featuring protection, automation, control and measurement functions,
- Acquisition, Control and Measurement Units (UAC 420),
- Local communications network (LAN, Ethernet) between several units in different levels.

EFACEC solutions are based on distributed architectures allowing for lower costs concerning installation, tests and maintenance, making these solutions more attractive from a technical and an investment point of view.

This set of projects is recognized as a CHILECTRA sign of trust towards EFACEC, based on its experience, high competitiveness and technical quality of the developed solutions within the scope of substation automation systems.
